The Bob Marley Foundation Ltd. USA seeks to maintain a dynamic foundation which will enable individuals, groups, and/or communities in developing nations, particularly Jamaica and Africa, to create and implement programs that assist in the empowerment of the oppressed and the elimination of generational poverty through sustainable projects.

Foundation Aims

The Foundation seeks to alleviate hunger and poverty by providing financial support and various other resources available through the Foundation. Music and sports are the primary vehicles used to educate communities, bridge racial gaps, and promote cross-cultural communication.
The Marley Family, through the Bob Marley Foundation, is implementing and/or supporting humanitarian initiatives in Jamaica, Ethiopia and Ghana. In Jamaica, the Trench Town Redevelopment Project maintains the legacy of Bob Marley in the area of Kingston known as the birthplace of "The Wailers." The Trench Town Redevelopment Project consists of a community centre, library and small museum.

Goal Details
The Bob Marley Foundation Ltd. (BMF) will primarily provide assistance to other organizations which conduct programs aimed at relieving poverty and suffering of children and others. In some instances, however, the BMF will create and conduct programs. Such programs will be executed internationally with an emphasis on the Caribbean, Africa and the United States, for the benefit of indigent, disenfranchised and under represented individuals, institutions and communities; particularly infants, youths and the elderly, and may include:
  1. Scholarships/fellowships for youth and other qualified individuals to attend academic and/or trade institutions in the Caribbean, Africa, United States of America or throughout the diaspora to further or complete degrees or training.

  2. Continuing education classes, seminars, workshops etc. presented by professionals in the arts, entertainment, music, and sports industry which will increase opportunities and employment for beneficiaries.

  3. Capital improvement drives for institutions to improve safety and overall environment of their facility to serve the needs of recipients.

  4. Plan and implement programmes, concerts, exhibitions and all forms of artistic performances which assist in disseminating the message of peace, justice, equality and human rights through music and art.

  5. Tours and exhibitions which promote the appreciation of culture and diversity utilizing the talents of local and international artisans and heighten the awareness of a myriad of human rights issues including health, socieconomics, education and the eradication of poverty and injustice.

  6. Provide counseling and mentoring resources to empower recipients and ensure sustainable economic, health and general welfare development.

  7. Provide education materials, and other printed materials to educate recipients

  8. Provide referral to corresponding or community partners for other services not offered by BMF.
