Scholarships
The aim of the Marley for Education programme is to provide economic support to families in need so that their children’s education can remain a top priority.
To date, the Marley for Education programme has provided scholarships to over 2000 students from basic schools to universities islandwide. The Bob Marley Foundation assists not just with school fees, but also with books, uniforms, and personal tablets which were required for remote learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Supporting our Schools
The Bob Marley Foundation provides financial assistance for the operations of eight Basic and Primary Schools throughout Jamaica. This aid helps support teacher salaries and administrative costs including commissioning new school rooms and playgrounds, maintenance and repair, and school breakfast programmes.
The current schools we partner with are: Bob Marley Primary and Junior High, Chepstowe Basic School, Cedella Booker Basic School, Victory Basic School, Holy Trinity Basic School, Boys Town Basic School, Rhoden Basic School and St. Isaacs Basic School.
Music in Schools
Providing training, equipment and music rooms to match the passion of our talented youth is core to our Marley for Education programme.
With the support of our partners, the Bob Marley Foundation has renovated music rooms at Grace Stem Centre, the Alpha Institute and the Haile Selassie High school and has provided musical instruments to equip each room.
Students are also able to show their skills working with engineers and producers to record their songs and music at the world renowned Tuff Gong Studios.
