Bob Marley

Outside of music, Bob Marley’s greatest passion was football (soccer).  

Recognizing that the Jamaican National Women’s Team, the ‘Reggae Girlz’, has the skills and the heart to be winners, but lacked support, Cedella Marley, CEO of the Bob Marley Group of Companies,  took a personal interest in the team, serving as their global ambassador since 2014.  

The  Bob Marley  Foundation continues to support  the Reggae Girlz and the Jamaica Football Federation by providing financial support for the Girlz, covering costs related to the training, coaching,  travel,  accommodation and gear for practice games and  training camps.

In 2018, the Reggae Girlz made history by qualifying for their first women’s football World Cup. We are proud of the Reggae Girlz for their  journey through the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifiers and  the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and their continued journey towards excellence and empowerment.
